A regular meeting of the Township of Nipissing Council was held on Tuesday, December 21, 2010.

Present: Mayor Pat Haufe and Councillors Thomas Butler, Dougal Culham, Tom Piper and Liz Smith.

Staff and visitors present: Dave Yemm, Charles Barton, Richard Drinkwalter, Kevin Martin, Sharon Martin, John Chellew, Gladys Bateman and Danny Rodgers.

The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m.

R2010-315 Tom Piper; Liz Smith: That the minutes of the meeting held December 7, 2010 be adopted as published. Carried.

Grader Replacement Proposals were presented to Council for review.

R2010-316 Dougal Culham; Tom Butler: That we accept a quotation from NORTRAX, dated December 10, 2010, to supply a new 2011 Deere 870GP Motor Grader. Carried.

R2010-317 Liz Smith; Tom Piper: That we set the Council meeting dates for 2011 as follows:

R2010-318 Tom Butler; Dougal Culham: That council endorses the nomination of Bill Vrebosch to the ROMA Executive as the Zone 9 representative. Carried.

R2010-319 Tom Piper; Liz Smith : That council supports the appointment of Virginia Onley to the Parry Sound Municipal Association for Ward 6 to represent the Municipalities of Callander and Powassan and The Townships of Chisholm and Nipissing. Carried.

R2010-320 Dougal Culham; Tom Butler: That we donate $200 to the Lake Nipissing Walleye Restocking Association. Carried.

R2010-321 Dougal Culham; Tom Butler: That we recommend approval of Consent Application No. B/35/Nipissing/2010 – Applicant: Richard and Jeffery Drinkwalter.
Conditions:

1. We request that the property be re-zoned from C3 to Recreation Residential and any structures located on the severed property must conform to the standards for the zone.

2. Any travelled road situated on the subject property should be transferred to the municipality for road purposes. Carried.

R2010-322 Tom Piper; Liz Smith: That we transfer $9998.81 to reserve for Roads – Federal Gas tax. Carried.

R2010-323 Tom Butler; Dougal Culham: That we transfer $120,000.00 to reserve for Roads – Equipment. Carried.

R2010-324 Liz Smith; Tom Piper: That we transfer $60,000.00 to reserve for Fire Department. Carried.

R2010-325 Dougal Culham; Tom Butler: That we transfer $30,000.00 to reserve for fitness equipment. Carried.

R2010-326 Liz Smith; Tom Piper: That we accept the correspondence as presented. Carried.

R2010-327 Tom Butler; Dougal Culham: That the statement of accounts dated December 21, 2010 be approved. $162,961.61. Carried.

R2010-330 Dougal Culham; Tom Butler : That we pass By-law number 2010-83, being a by-law to enter into an Agreement for a Community Centre/Fitness Centre Maintenance Person, Township Office Cleaning Services, Fire Hall Cleaning Services for The Township of Nipissing.
