TOWNSHIP OF NIPISSING

Tuesday, January 7, 2014

A regular meeting of the Township of Nipissing Council was held on Tuesday, January 7, 2014.

Present: Mayor Pat Haufe and Councillors Tom Butler, Dougal Culham, Tom Piper and Liz Smith.

Staff and visitors present: Dave Yemm, John-Paul Negrinotti, Kris Croskery-Hodgins and Charles Barton.

The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m.

R2014-4 D. Culham, T. Butler: That we direct the Treasurer-Deputy Clerk to proceed with tax registration on potential registerable properties. Carried.

R2014-5 L. Smith, T. Piper: That we hereby grant permission to Foote’s General Store to operate the LCBO-Agency Store located within their premises on Family Day. Carried.

R2014-6 T. Butler, D. Culham: That we hereby grant permission to Young’s South Shore Centre to operate the LCBO-Agency Store located within their premises on Family Day. Carried.

R-2014-7 T. Piper, L. Smith: That we pass By-Law Number 2014-02, being a By-law to adopt a Community Emergency Plan for the Corporation of the Township of Nipissing.

R2014-8 D. Culham, T. Butler: That we pass By-Law Number 2014-03, being a By-law to provide for advance votes to be held prior to voting day.

R2014-9 L. Smith, T. Piper: WHEREAS the Land Registry Office has proposed an order to amend PIN #52221-0063 & 52221-0068;
NOW THEREFORE THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF NIPISSING HEREBY CONSENTS TO THE PROPERTY DESCRIPTIONS ON PINS 52221-0063 AND 52221-0068 BEING AMENDED TO ADD “SUBJECT TO EASEMENT OVER PT 1 42R3905 AS IN LT112521, LT112522, LT112523, LT112524, LT116300, LT116301, LT116302, LT116303, LT116304, LT116305, LT116306, LT116307, LT116308, LT116309, LT116310, LT116311, LT116312, LT116313, LT116314, LT116315, LT116316, LT116317, LT120994, LT121982, LT123142, LT127871, LT127875, LT128349 & LT133882. R2014-10 T. Piper, L. Smith: That we accept the correspondence as presented. Carried.

Councillor Liz Smith declared pecuniary interest as her employer is listed in the Accounts.

R2014-11 T. Butler, D. Culham: That the statement of accounts dated: December 19, 30 and 31, 2013 and January 3 and 7, 2014, totaling $290,097.00, be approved. Carried.

R2014-12 L. Smith, T. Piper: That we participate in the City of North Bay Household Hazardous Waste Program. Carried.

R2014-13 T. Butler, D. Culham: That we rescind Resolution R2013-236 to place $10,000 into Fire Department reserves. Carried.

R2014-14 T. Piper, L. Smith: That we authorize the Mayor and CAO-Clerk to sign a Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund Amending Agreement for Project No. CO130 following a Scope Change Request on the project, Rehabilitation of the Community Centre. Carried.

R2014-15 D. Culham, T. Butler: That we pass By-Law No. 2014-04, being a by-law to confirm the proceedings of Council at its meeting held on January 7, 2014. Read the first, second and third time and passed this 7th day of January, 2014. Carried.
