TOWNSHIP OF NIPISSING
Tuesday, January 20, 2015

A regular meeting of the Township of Nipissing Council was held on Tuesday, January 20, 2015.

Present: Mayor Pat Haufe and Councillors Tom Butler, Tom Piper and Liz Smith.

Staff and visitors present: D’arcy Vachon, Dave Yemm, Kris Croskery-Hodgins and Charles Barton.

Regrets: Councillor Dougal Culham

The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m.

Disclosure of pecuniary interest: Councillor Tom Butler.

D’arcy Vachon made a presentation to Council, Skypower Projects ULC is considering a proposal to the OPA (Ontario Power Authority) in response to develop and operate a Large Renewable Project for between 5 and 8 MW of Non-Rooftop Solar on PCL 3002 SEC NS; Lt 1 Con 19 Nipissing, 144 Marion Drive.

David Warren withdrew his presentation request.

R2015-11 T. Butler, L. Smith: That the minutes of the meeting held January 6, 2015 be adopted as published. Carried.

R2015-12 L. Smith, T. Piper: That we participate in the City of North Bay Household Hazardous Waste Program. Carried.

The final draft of the January 2015 Newsletter was presented to Council for review.

R2015-13 L. Smith, T. Piper: That we accept the correspondence as presented. Carried.

Councillor Tom Butler declared pecuniary interest for January 6 and 20, 2015. His spouse is an employee of the Township and is listed in the payroll payable.

R2015-14 T. Piper, L. Smith: That the statement of accounts dated: December 31, 2014 and January 15 & 20, 2015, totaling $117,144.19, be approved. Carried.

R2015-15 T. Butler, L. Smith: That we support the District of Parry Sound Social Services Board Resolution that outlines their concerns regarding the risk of hardship of overpayment recovery on their vulnerable client population. Carried.

R2015-16 T. Piper, L. Smith: That we pass By-Law No. 2015-03, being a by-law to confirm the proceedings of Council at its meeting held on January 20, 2015. Read the first, second and third time and passed this 20th day of January, 2015. Carried.

R2015-17 T. Piper, T. Butler: That the meeting be adjourned. Time: 8:08 p.m. Next regular meeting February 3, 2015. Carried.
