NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING
OFFICIAL PLAN UPDATE

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE: The Township will be holding a Public Meeting as required by Section 17 (15) (d) of the Planning Act, to allow the public to review the proposed updates to the policies of the Township of Nipissing’s Official Plan.

THE PURPOSE OF THE PUBLIC MEETING: An Official Plan is a policy document that guides the land use in the Township. The Township of Nipissing’s Official Plan was approved by the Ontario Municipal Board on May 28, 2010. The Township has been undertaking an updated to the Official Plan to comply to statutory requirements and to update the document to reflect changes to Provincial policy.

The Official Plan Update will affect all lands within the Township of Nipissing. No key map is provided. Comments received from the Public Meeting will be considered by Council in the development of the Township’s Official Plan update.

REQUESTING NOTICE OF DECISION: If you wish to be notified of the decision of the Township of Nipissing on the proposed Official Plan, you must make a written request to the Township of Nipissing, at the address below.

If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Township of Nipissing before the proposed official plan update is adopted, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision of Council of the Township of Nipissing to the Ontario Municipal Board.

If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Township of Nipissing before the proposed official plan updated is adopted, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Ontario Municipal Board unless, in the opinion of the Board, there are reasonable grounds to add the person or public body as a party.
