TOWNSHIP OF NIPISSING
Tuesday, April 19, 2016

A regular meeting of the Township of Nipissing Council was held on Tuesday, April 19, 2016.

Present: Mayor Pat Haufe and Councillors Linda Andersen, Tom Butler, Tom Piper and Liz Smith.

Staff and visitors present: Staff Sgt. Laura Houliston, Dave Yemm, John-Paul Negrinotti, Kris Croskery-Hodgins and Charles Barton.

The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m.

R2016-86 T. Butler, L. Andersen: That the minutes of the meeting held April 5, 2016 be adopted as published. Carried.

R2016-87 L. Smith, T. Piper: That the minutes of the closed session minutes of the meeting held April 5, 2016 be adopted. Carried.

R2016-88 L. Andersen, T. Butler: That we accept the resignation of Mayor Pat Haufe as representative for Area 6 on the District of Parry Sound DSSAB. Carried.

R2016-89 T. Piper, L. Smith: That we appoint Councillor Linda Andersen to represent Area 6 on the District of Parry Sound DSSAB for the period from April 19, 2016 to December 31, 2018. Carried.

R2016-90 T. Butler, L. Andersen: That we authorize the CAO-Clerk to extend an Offer of Employment to Luke Clouthier. Carried.

R2016-91 L. Smith, T. Piper: That we award the Request for Proposal for Human Resources Consultant – Compensation and Pay Equity to Stratford Managers Corporation for a total tender price of $27,120.00 including applicable taxes. Carried.

R2016-92 T. Butler, L. Andersen: That we donate $100 to the 2016 Trout Creek Agricultural Society Fall Fair. Carried.

R2016-93 L. Smith, T. Piper: That we donate $250 to the East Parry Sound Literacy Council for programming. Carried.

R2016-94 L. Smith, T. Piper: That we accept the correspondence as presented. Carried.

Councillor Liz Smith declared a pecuniary interest as her employer is listed in the Accounts Payable listing.

R2016-95 L. Andersen, T. Butler: That the statement of accounts dated April 7 and 19, 2016; totaling $50,685.02, be approved. Carried.

R2016-96 L. Smith, T. Piper: That this part of our meeting will be closed to the public as authorized by Section 239(2) of the Municipal Act, 2001, c. 25, for consideration of the following subject matter:
b) personal matters about an identifiable individual, including municipal or local board employees;

R2016-97 T. Butler, L. Andersen: That we resume to an open public meeting. Time: 8:34 p.m. Carried.

R2016-98 T. Butler, L. Andersen: That we pass By-Law No. 2016-24, being a by-law to confirm the proceedings of Council at its meeting held on April 19, 2016. Read the first, second and third time and passed this 19th day of April, 2016. Carried.

R2016-99 T. Piper, L. Smith: That the meeting be adjourned. Time: 8:41 p.m. Next regular meeting May 10, 2016. Carried.
