TOWNSHIP OF NIPISSING
Tuesday, October 18, 2016

A regular meeting of the Township of Nipissing Council was held on Tuesday, October 18, 2016.

Present: Mayor Tom Piper, Councillors Tom Butler, Tom Marchant and Liz Smith.

Staff and visitors present: Jennifer McCourt, Bill Allen, Dave Yemm, John-Paul Negrinotti, Kris Croskery-Hodgins and Charles Barton.

Regrets: Councillor Linda Andersen

The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m.

Disclosure of pecuniary interest: None.

R2016-225 L. Smith, T. Marchant: That the minutes of the meeting held October 4, 2016 be adopted as published. Carried.

R2016-226 T. Butler, T. Marchant: That the closed session minutes of the meeting held October 4, 2016 be adopted. Carried.

Council requested Jennifer McCourt to attend the October 18th Council meeting for further discussion on the Improvements to the JP Webster pedestrian access trail project. Clarification on the budget amounts and scope of work was provided.

Council heard a verbal request from Bill Allen to investigate naming the portion of the Trans-Canada Trail going through the Township of Nipissing after late Mayor Pat Haufe. Council will discuss this request at a future Council meeting.

R2016-227 T. Marchant, L. Smith: That this part of our meeting will be closed to the public as
authorized by Section 239(2) of the Municipal Act, 2001, c. 25, for consideration of the following
subject matter:
b) personal matters about an identifiable individual, including municipal or local board employees;

R2016-228 T. Butler, L. Smith: That we resume to an open public meeting. Time: 7:08 p.m. Carried.

R2016-229 T. Marchant, L. Smith: That we accept the correspondence as presented. Carried.

R2016-230 T. Butler, T. Marchant: That the statement of accounts dated: October 6 and 18, 2016; totaling $93,763.09, be approved. Carried.

R2016-231 L. Smith, T. Marchant: That we authorize the CAO-Clerk and Treasurer-Deputy Clerk to attend a Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act training session in North Bay. Carried.

R2016-232 T. Butler, T. Marchant: That we pass By-Law No. 2016-55, being a by-law to confirm the proceedings of Council at its meeting held on October 18, 2016. Read the first, second and third time and passed this 18th day of October, 2016. Carried.

R2016-233 T. Marchant, L. Smith: That the meeting be adjourned. Time: 7:30 p.m. Next regular meeting November 1, 2016. Carried.
