A regular meeting of the Township of Nipissing Council was held on Tuesday, January 3, 2017.

Present: Mayor Tom Piper, Councillors Linda Andersen, Tom Butler, Tom Marchant and Liz Smith.

Staff and visitors present: Todd Daley, Will Bateman, Dave Yemm, John-Paul Negrinotti, Kris Croskery-Hodgins and Charles Barton.

The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m.

R2017-001 L. Smith, T. Marchant: That this part of our meeting will be closed to the public as authorized by Section 239(2) of the Municipal Act, 2001, c. 25, for consideration of the following subject matter:

R2017-004 T. Butler, L. Andersen: That we pass By-Law Number 2017-01, being a By-law to provide for an Interim Tax Levy.

R2017-005 L. Andersen, T. Butler: That we pass By-Law Number 2017-02, being a By-law to establish Open Air Burning Procedures.

R2017-006 L. Smith, T. Marchant: That we pass By-Law Number 2017-03, being a By-law to regulate the setting off of fireworks.

R2017-007 T. Butler, L. Andersen: That we pass By-Law Number 2017-04, being a By-law respecting permits for construction, demolition and change of use and respecting inspections and the charging of permit fees.
Read a first, second and third time and passed this 3rd day of January, 2017. Carried.

R2017-008 T. Marchant, L. Smith: That we hereby grant permission to Foote’s General Store to operate the LCBO-Agency Store located within their premises on Family Day. Carried.

R2017-009 L. Andersen, T. Butler: That we hereby grant permission to Young’s South Shore Centre to operate the LCBO-Agency Store located within their premises on Family Day. Carried.

R2017-010 L. Smith, T. Marchant: That we authorize the CAO-Clerk and the Treasurer-Deputy Clerk to attend the 2017 AMCTO Annual meeting. Carried.

The Draft 2017 Interim Tax Bill Newsletter was reviewed by Council.

R2017-011 T. Marchant, L. Smith: That we accept the correspondence as presented. Carried.

R2017-012 T. Butler, L. Andersen: That the statement of accounts dated: December 22, 2016 and January 3, 2017; totaling $137,015-85, be approved. Carried.

R2017-013 T. Marchant, L. Smith: That we pass By-Law No. 2017-05, being a by-law to confirm the proceedings of Council at its meeting held on January 3, 2017. Read the first, second and third time and passed this 3rd day of January, 2017. Carried.

R2017-014 T. Butler, L. Andersen: That the meeting be adjourned. Time: 8:02 p.m. Next regular meeting January 17, 2017. Carried.
