TOWNSHIP OF NIPISSING
Tuesday, August 8, 2017

A regular meeting of the Township of Nipissing Council was held on Tuesday, August 8, 2017.

Present: Mayor Tom Piper, Councillors Linda Andersen, Tom Butler, Tom Marchant and Liz Smith.

Staff and visitors present: Clinton Loxton, Kelly Loxton, Steve Kirkey, Hans Schwarzkopf, Andrea Braun, Isabell Schwarzkopf, John-Paul Negrinotti, Kris Croskery-Hodgins and Charles Barton.

The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m.

Disclosure of pecuniary interest: None.

Presentation: Kelly Loxton presented concerns regarding the creation/extension of the TransCanada Trail that has been established on a portion of property owned by Clinton and Iris Loxton. A request was made for a full survey of the land, proper compensation for the property if appropriate or removal of the trail from the private land.

R2017-137 L. Andersen, T. Butler: That we pass By-Law Number 2017-30, being a By-law to stop up, close and sell part of the Original Shore Road Allowance in front of Lot 8, Plan M146, Parcel 7226 designated as Part 1 on Plan 42R-11141, in the Township of Nipissing, District of Parry Sound.
Read a first, second and third time and passed this 8th day of August, 2017. Carried.

R2017-138 L. Smith, T. Marchant: That we pass By-Law Number 2017-31, being a By-law to authorize the Township of Nipissing to enter into a Site Plan Agreement with Hans Peter Schwarzkopf and Elisabeth Schwarzkopf re: PCL 7226 Sec NS; Lt 8 PL M146, Nipissing (PIN 52221-0233) and Part of the Original Shore Road Allowance in front of Lot 3, Conc. 19, Nipissing being Part 1, Plan 42R11141 (PIN 52221-0203), in the Township of Nipissing, in the District of Parry Sound.
Read a first, second and third time and passed this 8th day of August, 2017. Carried.

Discussion took place regarding the Terms of Reference for the ECO Committee.

R2017-140 L. Andersen, T. Butler: That we accept the correspondence as presented. Carried.

R2017-141 T. Marchant, L. Smith: That the statement of accounts dated: July 12, 13, 24, 26 and 27; August 8, 2017; totaling $477,611.94, be approved. Carried.

R2017-142 T. Butler, L. Andersen: That we accept the Quote received from Trans Canada Safety for Annual Inspection Services – Fire Extinguishers. Carried.

R2017-143 L. Smith, T. Marchant: That we donate $400 to the Sportsplex Booster Club. Carried.

R2017-144 T. Butler, L. Andersen: That we pass By-Law No. 2017-32, being a by-law to confirm the proceedings of Council at its meeting held on August 8, 2017. Read the first, second and third time and passed this 8th day of August, 2017. Carried.

R2017-145 T. Marchant, L. Smith: That the meeting be adjourned. Time: 8:13 p.m. Next regular meeting September 5, 2017. Carried.
