The Township of Nipissing has recently reviewed and updated the Accessibility Plan for the Township.
This is required under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act.
A complete copy of the plan is available for public viewing at the Township Office.
Anyone wishing to be included in the preparation of updates to this plan or bring forward comments or suggestions is invited to contact the Township Office at 724-2144.


The Township of Nipissing has an agreement with the City of North Bay to have all Household Hazardous Waste accepted at their depot.

  • The Office of the Fire Marshal is notifying the public that on March 10, 2009, Maytag Corporation announced a voluntary recall of various refrigerator models. An electrical failure in the relay, which is the component that turns on the refrigerator’s compressor, can cause overheating and pose a serious fire hazard.

  • FIRE WARDENS – From April 1st to October 31st you must obtain a fire permit for any open air burning within the Township of Nipissing. Day burning, between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., is not permitted. Permits are available, at no cost, from the following permit issuers:

    The Township of Nipissing is pleased to announce that agreements are in place with most financial institutions allowing for property taxes to be paid using the internet or telephone banking services provided by the financial institutions.

    Please note that not ALL financial institutions are included in our program. We apologize for this inconvenience but we are unable to provide a working relationship with all parties at this time.

    The account number to be used is your property Roll number. It is located at the top right hand corner of your tax bill and it begins with the number 4971. The entire 19 digit number is to be entered as it appears on your bill, including all zeros.

    Please refer to the purple insert in your final tax bills for an example of the Roll number and further instructions.
