SUMMARY:Bear Creek Bridge and Abutment Installation
DESCRIPTION:The Township of Nipissing received funding from the Provincial Government through the Health and Safety Water Stream Grant allowing the Township to complete the replacement of the culvert over Bear Creek with a bridge to improve the longevity of this important asset. \nDegagne Aggregates have been awarded the contract by Council for the installation of the bridge and abutments and will be onsite for the duration of the project.  The anticipated timeline for the project is 4 weeks\, with the project set to begin between August 7 and 14\, 2026. \nThe road will have one lane of traffic open for the duration of the project.  During the abutment installation and to allow for the crane to work in the area there will be a day the road will be closed for approximately 4 hours to all vehicle traffic.  Notice will be given in advance when the closure will take place.  Notice will be provided on the Township’s website www.nipissingtownship.com and the Township’s Facebook page.  During the closure emergency services will be notified and the Township of Nipissing Fire Department will have a truck stationed on the west side of the closure to respond to any calls. \nPlease contact the Township Office to discuss the details of the project.  Email – office@nipissingtownship.com or phone # 705-724-2144. \nThank you for your understanding and patience as the Township completes this important infrastructure improvement. \nKind Regards\, \nKris Croskery-Hodgins                                                          Dan MacInnis\nMunicipal-Administrator\, Clerk-Treasurer                      Operations Superintendent \n
