Nipissing Township is situated roughly between South River and North Bay; the Northlander train will have stations in both locations with a drive of approximately 40km to Nipissing Township.

Both northbound and southbound Northlander train trips provide connections with the Polar Bear Express in Cochrane.
Layovers in Timmins for Northlander service:
- The southbound trip from Cochrane includes a 1-hour layover in Timmins.
- The northbound trip to Cochrane includes a 2 hour 20-minute layover in Timmins.
* An optional express motor coach service is available at Matheson for passengers traveling north to Cochrane. The express service departs Matheson at 4:30 a.m. and arrives in Cochrane at 5:45 a.m.
Proposed Northlander Fares:
Discounts will be offered to children, seniors (over 60), students, military personnel, and passengers travelling for medical purposes, as well as their attendants.
The ticketing platform will be updated closer to launch of service so passengers can book travel in advance and access the lowest fares.
