Landfill Cards

Electronic Landfill Cards have been sent out, please check your Final Tax Bill. Cards can be used as soon as you receive them. Please call the Township Office with any questions or concerns. 705-724-2144.

We’re excited to share that our Landfill Cards have been updated with a New Permanent Card! The new cards are more durable, modern and designed for long term use.

What Does This Mean?

Paper Landfill Cards will NOT be mailed out annually with your Tax Bills as per previous years. This will be the only Landfill Card you need!

How The New Card Works?

  • Each Card has a unique identification number, that card number is registred to a Property Owner.
  • Scratch the CVC # off, so the Landfill Attendant can use upon entry.
  • Landfill Attendants will use a handheld device to swipe the Landfill Card, instantly registering who is dropping off waste.
  • The system tracks the volume of waste by recording the number of bags each household brings to the Landfill.
  • * There is NO BAG LIMIT associated with the card, this will help us track how much household garbage is entering the Landfill for reporting purposes.

* Property Owners are responsible for providing these cards to their Tenants. *

* Landfill Cards are electronically activated annually, This means there is no need to send out new cards each year. *

* Residents MUST present their Landfill Card upon entry, each time they use the Landfill *

* Replacement Card Fee: $ 10.00 / Card*

AS OF OCTOBER 1ST PAPER LANDFILL CARDS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

Sharps and Medication:

Not sure what to do with your pharmaceuticals or sharps? Visit your local pharmacy to return medication/prescription drugs and sharps, FREE OF CHARGE.

You can also bring your pharmaceuticals and sharps to the Household Hazardous Waste Depot for proper disposal. If you do not have access to an approved sharps container, please put sharps in a rigid plastic container, tape the lid shut, and properly label SHARPS on the bottle.

NOTE: Pharmacies will not accept sharps that are not in an approved sharps container. You can pick up an approved container at your local pharmacy, free of charge.

Transporting Hazardous Waste

  • DO NOT MIX CHEMICALS TOGETHER.
  • All material should be left in the original container for easy identification.

  • Bring all hazardous waste in a cardboard box of rigid container.
  • Collect household batteries in a small bag, plastic container, or coffee can.
  • Do not mix bulbs and batteries; batteries may cause bulbs to break, leading to mercury exposure and increase the risk of injury due to the broken glass.

  • Load your vehicle just before leaving to minimize fumes.
