Tuesday, December 4, 2018

A regular meeting of the Township of Nipissing Council was held on Tuesday, December 4, 2018.

Present: Mayor Tom Piper, Councillors Linda Andersen, Tom Marchant, Liz Moore and James Scott.

Staff and visitors present: Denise Scott, Will Bateman, Dave Yemm, John-Paul Negrinotti, Kris Croskery-Hodgins and Charles Barton.

The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m.

First item of business was to receive the Declaration of Office from each council member.

R2018-210 L. Moore, T. Marchant: That Council supports the appointment of Peter McIsaac, Municipality of Powassan, to represent Area 6 on the District of Parry Sound DSSAB for the period from January 1, 2019 to December 31, 2022. Carried.

R2018-211 T. Marchant, L. Moore: That Council supports the appointment of Dave Britton, Municipality of Powassan to represent Area 1 on the Eastholme Home for the Aged – Board of Management. Carried.

R2018-212 L. Andersen, J. Scott: That Council appoints Mayor Tom Piper to represent Area 1 on the Eastholme Home for the Aged – Board of Management. Carried.

R2018-213 J. Scott, L. Andersen: That Council supports the appointment of Maurice Turgeon, to represent the Township of Nipissing and the Municipalities of Callander and Powassan on the Parry Sound District Emergency Medical Service Advisory Committee for the period from January 1, 2019 to December 31, 2022. Carried.

R2018-214 L. Andersen, J. Scott: That we appoint Penelope Wallace, Paul Lafrance and Tom Marchant to represent the Township of Nipissing on the North Almaguin Planning Board for the period of December 1, 2018 to November 30, 2022. Carried.

R2018-215 J. Scott, L. Andersen: That Tom Marchant be appointed as the Township of Nipissing representative to the North Bay-Mattawa Source Protection Authority for the Council term of 2018 to 2022. Carried.

R2018-216 L. Moore, T. Marchant: That we appoint John-Paul Negrinotti as Community Emergency Management Coordinator (CEMC) and Kris Croskery-Hodgins as Alternate CEMC. Carried.

R2018-217 T. Marchant, L. Moore: That we authorize Liz Moore and Kris Croskery-Hodgins to attend the Association of Municipalities of Ontario 2019 Conference. Carried.

R2018-218 T. Marchant, L. Moore: That we accept the correspondence as presented. Carried.

R2018-219 J. Scott, L. Andersen: That the statement of accounts dated: November 28, 29 and 30 and December 4, 2018; totaling $141,603.84 be approved. Carried.

R2018-220 L. Moore, T. Marchant: That we appoint Doug Walli to represent the Township of Nipissing for the Golden Sunshine Municipal Non-Profit Housing Corporation for the Council term of 2018 to 2022. Carried.

R2018-221 L. Moore, T. Marchant: That we pass By-Law No. 2018-47, being a by-law to confirm the proceedings of Council at its meeting held on December 4, 2018. Read the first, second and third time and passed this 4th day of December, 2018. Carried.
