TOWNSHIP OF NIPISSING
Tuesday, January 19, 2021

A regular meeting of the Township of Nipissing Council was held on Tuesday, January 19, 2021.
In response to the Social Distancing requirements for Covid-19 precautions, the meeting was held via the Zoom platform and livestreamed to the Township of Nipissing YouTube channel.

Present: Mayor Tom Piper and Councillors Linda Andersen, Tom Marchant, Liz Moore and James Scott.
Present: Fire Chief Will Bateman, Operations Superintendent Dan MacInnis, Treasurer-Deputy Clerk Kris Croskery-Hodgins and CAO-Clerk Charles Barton.

R2021-009 L. Moore, L. Andersen: That the minutes of the meeting held January 5, 2021 be adopted as published. Carried.

R2021-010 T. Marchant, J. Scott: That we pass By-Law Number 2021-05, being a By-law to appoint an Emergency Management Program Committee for the Township of Nipissing.
Read a first, second and third time and passed this 19th day of January, 2021. Carried.

R2021-011 L. Andersen, L. Moore: That we pass By-Law Number 2021-06, being a By-law to authorize borrowing from time to time to meet current expenditures during the fiscal year ending December 31, 2021.
Read a first, second and third time and passed this 19th day of January, 2021. Carried.

R2021-012 T. Marchant, J. Scott: That the Township of Nipissing outdoor rink located at Heritage Park will be closed for the 2021 season in acknowledgement of the directive issued by the Medical Officer of Health under the provisions of the Emergency Management and Civil Protections Act. Carried.

R2021-013 L. Moore, J. Scott: WHEREAS the South Shore/Restoule Snowmobile Club has requested permission to modify the Memorandum of Understanding dated October 6, 2020 for the temporary use of a road within the Township of Nipissing;
NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Township of Nipissing hereby acknowledges the use of the following municipal road:
a) Kings Side Road for the remainder of the 2021 snowmobile season. Carried.

R2021-014 L. Andersen, T. Marchant: That we authorize the installation of a guard rail on a South-Western portion of Sunset Cove Road on the approach to Highway 654. Carried.

R2021-015 J. Scott, L. Moore: That we approve the January Newsletter for circulation as presented.
Carried.

R2021-016 L. Andersen, T. Marchant: That we accept the correspondence as presented. Carried.

R2021-017 J. Scott, L. Moore: That the statement of accounts dated December 31, 2020 and January 7 and 15, 2021; totaling $66,266.91 be approved. Carried.

R2021-018 J. Scott, L. Andersen: That we pass By-Law No. 2021-07, being a by-law to confirm the proceedings of Council at its meeting held on January 19, 2021.
Read the first, second and third time and passed this 19th day of January, 2021. Carried.

R2021-019 L. Moore, T. Marchant: That the meeting be adjourned. Time: 7:07 p.m. Next regular meeting to be held February 2, 2021. Carried.
