TOWNSHIP OF NIPISSING
Tuesday, January 21, 2020
A regular meeting of the Township of Nipissing Council was held on Tuesday, January 21, 2020.
Present: Mayor Tom Piper, Councillors Linda Andersen, Tom Marchant, Liz Moore and James Scott.
Staff and visitors present: Chris Mong, Rose Haufe, Dan MacInnis, Will Bateman, John-Paul Negrinotti, Kris Croskery-Hodgins and Charles Barton.
The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m.

R2020-014 L. Moore, T. Marchant: That this part of our meeting will be closed to the public as authorized by Section 239(2) of the Municipal Act, 2001, c. 25, for consideration of the following subject matter:
b) personal matters about an identifiable individual, including municipal or local board employees;

R2020-015 J. Scott, L. Andersen: That we resume to an open public meeting. Time: 7:15 p.m. Carried.
Operations Superintendent MacInnis left the meeting.

R2020-016 T. Marchant, L. Moore: That the minutes of the meeting held January 7, 2020 be adopted as published. Carried.
R2020-017 T. Marchant, J. Scott: That the closed session minutes of the meeting held January, 7, 2020 be adopted. Carried.

R2020-018 L. Moore, T. Marchant: That we authorize the CAO-Clerk and Treasurer-Deputy Clerk to attend the 2020 AMCTO Annual Conference. Carried.
R2020-019 J. Scott, L. Andersen: That we pass By-Law 2020-05 being a By-Law to limit the gross weight of any vehicle or any class thereof passing over a bridge under the jurisdiction of the Corporation of the Township of Nipissing pursuant to the Highway Traffic Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. H. 8, as amended.
Read a first, second and third time and passed this 21st day of January, 2020. Carried.
R2020-020 L. Moore, T. Marchant: That we pass By-Law 2020-06, being a By-Law to establish the remuneration and payment of expenses to members of Council.
Read a first, second and third time and passed this 21st day of January, 2020. Carried.
R2020-021 T. Marchant, L. Moore: That we accept the correspondence as presented. Carried.
Councillor Tom Marchant declared a Conflict of Interest on the following matter as he is currently the Chairperson of the Commanda Community Centre Board of Management.
R2020-022 L. Andersen, J. Scott: That the statement of accounts dated January 9 and 21, 2020; totaling $41,622.10 be approved. Carried.
R2020-023 L. Moore, T. Marchant: That we pass By-Law No. 2020-07, being a by-law to confirm the proceedings of Council at its meeting held on January 21, 2020.
Read the first, second and third time and passed this 21st day of January, 2020. Carried.
R2020-024 J. Scott, L. Andersen: That the meeting be adjourned. Time: 7:55 p.m. Next regular meeting February 4, 2020. Carried.
