Tuesday, March 6, 2018
A regular meeting of the Township of Nipissing Council was held on Tuesday, March 6, 2018.
Present: Mayor Tom Piper, Councillors Linda Andersen, Tom Marchant and Liz Smith.
Regrets: Councillor Tom Butler.
Staff and visitors present: Dave Yemm; Will Bateman; John-Paul Negrinotti; Kris Croskery-Hodgins and Charles Barton.
The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m.

R2018-048 T. Marchant, L. Andersen: That we pass By-Law Number 2018-12, being a By-law to authorize the Township of Nipissing to enter into a Site Plan Agreement with Elisabeth Schwarzkopf Re: PCL 7226 SEC NS; LT 8 PL M146, Nipissing (PIN 52221-0233) and Part of the Original Shore Road Allowance in front of Lot 3, Conc. 19, Nipissing, being Part 1, Plan 42R11141 (PIN 52221-0203).

R2018-049 T. Marchant, L. Smith: That we pass By-Law Number 2018-13, being a By-law to appoint a Compliance Audit Committee under the Municipal Elections Act for the Corporation of the Township of Nipissing.

R2018-050 L. Smith, L. Andersen: That we pass By-Law Number 2018-14, being a By-law to establish and/or continue a Fire Department.

R2018-051 T. Marchant, L. Andersen: That we pass By-Law Number 2018-15, being a By-law to set tax ratios for municipal purposes for the year 2018.

R2018-052 L. Andersen, L. Smith: That we pass By-Law Number 2018-16, being a By-law to specify the annualized tax limit, prior year current value assessment tax limit, claw back percentages, the capping threshold parameters and the minimum tax level for new to class/new construction properties for the Township of Nipissing.

A detailed review of the Draft 2018 Budget was presented to Council for comment.
R2018-053 L. Smith, L. Andersen: That we accept the correspondence as presented. Carried.
R2018-054 T. Marchant, L. Andersen: That the statement of accounts dated: February 22 and March 6, 2018; totaling $127,942.33, be approved. Carried.
R2018-055 T. Marchant, L. Smith: That we amend the current insurance coverage for docks to maintain the liability and remove the replacement costs effective immediately. Carried.
R2018-056 L. Andersen, L. Smith: That we donate $100 to the 2018 Powassan Maple Syrup Festival. Carried.
R2018-057 L. Smith, L. Andersen: That we authorize Liz Smith, Linda Andersen, Tom Piper and Tom Marchant to attend the District of Parry Sound Municipal Association Meeting being held in Powassan on April 27th, 2018. Carried.
R2018-058 L. Smith, L. Andersen: That we pass By-Law No. 2018-17, being a by-law to confirm the proceedings of Council at its meeting held on March 6, 2018. Read the first, second and third time and passed this 6th day of March, 2018. Carried.
R2018-059 T. Marchant, L. Andersen: That the meeting be adjourned. Time: 8:46 p.m. Next regular meeting March 20, 2018. Carried.
