A regular meeting of the Township of Nipissing Council was held on Tuesday, May 21, 2019.

Present: Mayor Tom Piper, Councillors Linda Andersen, Liz Moore and James Scott.

Staff and visitors present: Dave Yemm, Will Bateman, John-Paul Negrinotti, Kris Croskery-Hodgins and Charles Barton.

The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m.

R2019-93 L. Moore, J. Scott: That the minutes of the meeting held May 7, 2019 be adopted as published. Carried.

R2019-94 L. Andersen, J. Scott: That the minutes of the closed session meeting held May 7, 2019 be adopted. Carried.

R2019-95 J. Scott, L. Moore: That we donate $100 to the Almaguin Highlands Secondary School 2019 Graduation Awards Program. Carried.

R2019-96 L. Moore, L. Andersen: That we authorize the offer of an Employment Contract to Jennifer Chapman for the Community Centre, Fitness Centre and Office Maintenance Person position. Carried.

R2019-97 J. Scott, L. Moore: That we authorize an Employment Agreement with Cheryl Young for the position of Museum Manager. Carried.

R2019-98 L. Moore, L. Andersen: That we award RFP 2019-01 for a Fire Department Enclosed Trailer to: Northern RV. For a total cost of $30,453.50, including applicable taxes. Carried.

R2019-99 L. Moore, L. Andersen: That we award Tender Number N-01-19 for Winter Sand to: Bruman Construction. For a total cost of $54,319.10, including applicable taxes. Carried.

R2019-100 J. Scott, L. Moore: That we award Tender Number N-02-19 for Stockpiled Quarried Granite to: Evan Hughes Excavating Ltd. For a total cost of $37,431.25, including applicable taxes. Carried.

R2019-101 J. Scott, L. Andersen: That we award Tender Number N-03-19 for Supplied and Applied Quarried Granite to: Evan Hughes Excavating Ltd. For a total cost of $175,302.55, including applicable taxes. Carried.

R2019-102 L. Andersen, J. Scott: That we award Tender Number N-04-19 for Surface Treatment to: Duncor Enterprises Inc. For a total cost of $168,115.61, including applicable taxes. Carried.

R2019-103 L. Moore, J. Scott: That we pass By-Law Number 2019-20, being a By-law to adopt the Organizational Chart for the Township of Nipissing.

R2019-104 J. Scott, L. Andersen: That we pass By-Law Number 2019-21, being a By-law to adopt Municipal Position Descriptions for the Operations Superintendent, Equipment Operator and Labourer-Truck Driver positions for the Township of Nipissing.

R2019-105 L. Moore, J. Scott: That we authorize an advertisement for the position of Operations Superintendent be circulated. Carried.

R2019-106 J. Scott, L. Moore: That we pass By-Law Number 2019-22, being a By-law to adopt the estimates for all sums required for the year, to provide for the adoption of tax rates and to further provide for penalty and interest in default of payment thereof for 2019.

R2019-107 L. Moore, L. Andersen: That we accept the correspondence as presented. Carried.

R2019-108 J. Scott, L. Andersen: That the statement of accounts dated May 16 and 21, 2019; totaling $83,834.06 be approved. Carried.

R2019-109 L. Moore, L. Andersen: That we pass By-Law No. 2019-23, being a by-law to confirm the proceedings of Council at its meeting held on May 21, 2019.

R2019-110 J. Scott, L. Andersen: That the meeting be adjourned. Time: 8:10 p.m. Next regular meeting June 4, 2019. Carried.
