TOWNSHIP OF NIPISSING
Wednesday, July 24, 2019
A special meeting of the Township of Nipissing Council was held on Wednesday, July 24, 2019.
Present: Mayor Tom Piper, Councillors Linda Andersen, Tom Marchant, Liz Moore and James Scott.
Staff and visitors present: Cara Holtby, Christopher Brown, Penelope Wallace, Paul Lafrance, John-Paul Negrinotti, Kris Croskery-Hodgins and Charles Barton.
The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m.
Disclosure of pecuniary interest: None.
Cara Holtby, Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, opened a discussion regarding the transition of Consent Granting Authority for the Township of Nipissing from the North Almaguin Planning Board to the Township of Nipissing.
The Minister timeline includes an Order to Reconfigure the North Almaguin Planning Board composition and area to be followed by two Regulations. The first Regulation to delegate land division powers to the Township of Nipissing and the second Regulation to provide exemption for Official Plan Amendment Ministerial approval for the Township.
The Township received suggestions to begin reviewing the Procedural By-Law to involve the consent processes, update the User Fee By-Law to include the appropriate fees for the consent process and reviewing the processes for pre-consultation on applications and the procedures to be followed and communicated to applicants.
The CAO-Clerk will contact the North Almaguin Planning Board Administrator to facilitate the transfer of documents.

R2019-146 J. Scott, L. Andersen: That the statement of accounts dated July 11 and 24, 2019; totaling $136,447.55 be approved. Carried.
R2019-147 L. Moore, T. Marchant: That we pass By-Law No. 2019-28, being a by-law to confirm the proceedings of Council at its meeting held on July 24, 2019.
Read the first, second and third time and passed this 24th day of July, 2019. Carried.
R2019-148 L. Andersen, J. Scott: That the meeting be adjourned. Time: 8:03 p.m. Next regular meeting August 6, 2019. Carried.
