Waste Disposal and Recycling
Recycling depots are located at both existing dumps during regular hours. The hours of operation for waste disposal sites located in the Township of Nipissing are as follows:
Site Location: Concession 7, Lot 21
(Wolfe Lake Road and Highway 534)
Dumping Hours:
Saturday – 10:00 am to 6:00 pm
Monday – 10:00 am to 6:00 pm
Thursday – 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm
Site Location: Concession 15, Lot 5
(Hwy 654 near Sunset Cove Road)
Dumping Hours:
Friday – 10:00 am to 6:00 pm
Sunday – 10:00 am to 6:00 pm
Wednesday – 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm
The dumps will be closed on all Statutory Holidays and on Remembrance Day when it falls from Monday to Friday
Landfill Entry Permit required to get access to the dump.

List of Recyclable Materials Accepted
1. Cardboard, box board (cereal boxes)
- must be flat for stacking purposes
- no waxed cardboard
2. Newspapers, white papers, magazines, catalogs
- do not tie paper with string, leave loose
3. Pop cans, tins, plastics 1 – 7
- please rinse
At this time we are unable to accept any glass products. Your involvement with this recycling initiative will prolong the life of our dumps and help the environment.
Hazardous Waste Disposal
The Township of Nipissing has an agreement with the City of North Bay to have all Household Hazardous Waste accepted at their depot.
*Please note that the Hazardous Waste Depot now accepts Electronic items for disposal.
WHAT CAN BE RECYCLED
Hard Drives, Monitors, Keyboards, Printers, Cordless Tools, DVD Players, VCR’s, Software, Cell Phones, Pages, Digital Equipment, Scanners and Much More.
They also accept TVs!
Please bring your electronics to the HHW DEPOT as electronic equipment may contain Hazardous Material. Electronic equipment may contain lead, mercury, cadmium, and brominated flame retardants. Residents should take their HHW products to the HAZARDOUS WASTE DEPOT, FREE OF CHARGE. The following are examples of Household Hazardous Waste that should be taken to the HHW Depot:
Aerosol cans – Antifreeze – Asphalt & roofing tar – Automatic transmission fluid – Automotive batteries – Brake fluid – Bug and tar removers – Car wax & polish – Degreasers – Disinfectant – Drain Cleaners – Engine-radiator flushes – Fungicide – Furniture strippers & polishes – Gasoline – Kerosene, Grease and Lubes – Household Batteries – Household cleansers – Insecticides – Lye or Caustic soda, Metal Polish – Mothballs – Motor oil & Waste oils – Nail Polish – Oil filters – Oven cleaner – Paint varnish – Stain – Dye – Paint and lacquer thinners – Pesticides – Photochemicals – Propane tanks (big and small), Rustproofers – Solvents – Spot remover/cleaning fluids – Swimming pool chemicals – Syringes – Turpentine – Varnish.
The Paint RE-USE Program is a waste reduction-re-use program located at the HHW Depot. Good quality household products can be picked by residents free of charge. This includes products such as paint, stain and varnishes.
