TOWNSHIP OF NIPISSING

Tuesday, April 26, 2011

A regular meeting of the Township of Nipissing Council was held on Tuesday, April 26, 2011.

Present: Mayor Pat Haufe and Councillors Thomas Butler, Dougal Culham, Tom Piper and Liz Smith.

Staff and visitors present: Charles Barton, Kris Croskery-Hodgins, Doug Harris, Dave Yemm and Richard Drinkwalter.

The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m.

Disclosure of pecuniary interest: None.

The meeting was declared a public meeting pursuant to the provisions of Section 34 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c.P. 13, as amended, to allow the public to comment on an application for a change to Zoning By-law No. 980 by Richard Drinkwalter.

R2011-89 T. Piper, L. Smith: That we pass By-law Number 2011-14 being a By-law to amend By-law No. 980, as amended, the Zoning By-law for the Township of Nipissing with respect to lands located in Part Lot 218, Concession A, as part of condition to Township Consent file No. B/35/Nipissing/2010, in the Township of Nipissing.
Read a first, second and third time and passed this 26th day of April, 2011.
Carried.

R2011-90 L. Smith, T. Piper: That this part of our meeting will be closed to the public as authorized by Section 239(2) of the Municipal Act, 2001, c. 25, for consideration of the following subject matter:
– personal matters about an identifiable individual, including municipal or local board employees;

R2011-92 L. Smith, T. Piper: That the minutes of the meeting held April 21, 2011 be adopted as published. Carried.

R2011-93 T. Butler, D. Culham: That we adopt the minutes of the closed session meeting held April 12, 2011. Carried.

R2011-94 T. Piper, L. Smith: That Council authorizes members of the Roads Crew to attend the Association of Ontario Road Supervisors Municipal Trade Show being held in Kitchener, Ontario on June 9, 2011. Carried.

R2011-95 D. Culham, T. Butler: Be it resolved that the Council of the Township of Nipissing hereby supports the Town of Parry Sound’s Resolution No. 2011-041, with respect to changes to the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care (MoHLTC), which requests Emergency Medical Services funding formula to be more in line with the funding formula for DSSAB which is more than 50%;
And that Resolution Number R2011-85 be rescinded.

R2011-96 L. Smith, T. Piper: That the Township of Nipissing supports the resolution circulated by the District of Parry Sound Social Services Administration Board recommending a new Ontario Works Funding Model for Administration.
And that Resolution R2011-86 passed April 12, 2011 be rescinded.
Carried.

R2011-97 T. Piper, L. Smith: That we accept the correspondence as presented. Carried.

R2011-98 D. Culham, T. Butler: That the statement of accounts dated April 26, 2011 be approved. $57,284.64. Carried.

R2011-99 T. Piper, L. Smith: That we accept the quote from Northern Voice and Data to update the office computer system. Carried.

R2011-100 T. Butler, D. Culham: That we pass By-Law No. 2011-15, being a by-law to confirm the proceedings of Council at its meeting held on April 26th, 2011. Read the first, second and third time and passed this 26th day of April, 2011. Carried.
