A Public Meeting was held on Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at the Nipissing Community Centre.

Topic for Discussion: Zoning By-Law Amendments

Public Meeting declared an Open Meeting at 6:30 p.m. by Mayor Pat Haufe.

Disclosure of Pecuniary Interest: None.

Mayor Haufe welcomed guests and provided instruction on the meeting format.

A review of the Zoning By-Law, amendments and regulations governing Zoning By-Laws was provided by Jim Dyment, Planner.

Those with comments in support of the By-Law were asked to come forward and comment.

Those with comments and/or concerns not in support of the By-Law were asked to come forward and comment.

Items brought forward for comment:
• Holding zone surrounding Land Fill Areas.
• Tree removal at or near the high water mark.
• Trailer and boat storage on property.
• Boathouses in the M120 area.
• Flaws in the draft Zoning By-law such as roads and flood plain measurements.
• Limited Service Residential zoning and implications.
• Possibilities of assessment impacts and tax rate impacts.
• Ice Huts/Fishing Huts and seasonal habitation of same.
• By-law wording and definitions of volume, area, sun porch and deck.
• Environmentally protective and sensitive areas.

Response to concerns provided by Jim Dyment, Planner. A detailed report concerning issues addressed will be provided to the Township Office by Mr. Dyment at a later date.

Mayor Haufe thanked those in attendance. He requested that those wishing to be notified of future meetings regarding this By-Law provide contact information on a form provided or contact the Clerk.

Public meeting was declared Closed at 8:00 p.m. by Mayor Pat Haufe.
