TOWNSHIP OF NIPISSING

A regular meeting of the Township of Nipissing Council was held on Tuesday, December 16, 2014.

Present: Mayor Pat Haufe and Councillors Tom Butler, Dougal Culham, Tom Piper and Liz Smith.

Staff and visitors present: Dave Yemm, John-Paul Negrinotti, Kris Croskery-Hodgins and Charles Barton.

The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m.

R2014-229 D. Culham, T. Butler: That the minutes of the meeting held December 2, 2014 be adopted as published. Carried.

R2014-230 L. Smith, T. Piper: That we pass By-Law Number 2014-52, being a By-law to enter into an Agreement for a Community Centre/Fitness Centre Maintenance Person and Township Office Cleaning Services for the Township of Nipissing.
Read a first, second and third time and passed this 16th day of December 2014. Carried.

R2014-231 T. Butler, D. Culham: That we authorize: Dave Yemm and Tom Piper to attend the OGRA/ROMA Good Roads Conference in Toronto. Carried.

Councillor Butler left the Council chambers for this discussion as Tracy Butler is his spouse.
R2014-232 L. Smith, T. Piper: That we appoint Tracy Butler to the Rink Caretaker Position for the 2014-2015 season. Carried.
Councillor Butler returned to the Council chambers.

R2014-233 L. Smith, T. Piper: That we pass By-Law Number 2014-53, being a By-law to establish the remuneration and payment of expenses to members of Council.
Read a first, second and third time and passed this 16th day of December, 2014. Carried.

Councillor Butler declared pecuniary interest as his spouse is an employee of the Township.
R2014-234 D. Culham, T. Piper: That we pass By-Law Number 2014-54, being a By-law to amend the Remuneration Schedule in the Township of Nipissing Pay Equity Plan.

R2014-235 D. Culham, T. Butler: That we transfer the machine credit for the Roads Equipment to reserve at the end of 2014. Carried.

R2014-236 L. Smith, T. Piper: That we transfer the machine credit for the Landfill Excavator to reserve at the end of 2014. Carried.

R2014-237 T. Butler, D. Culham: That the payment out of court for tax sale proceedings be transferred to the General Reserve. Carried.

R2014-238 T. Piper, L. Smith: That we transfer $10,000 to reserve for Fire Equipment. Carried.

R2014-239 D. Culham, T. Butler: That we accept the correspondence as presented. Carried.

R2014-240 T. Piper, L. Smith: That the statement of accounts dated: December 4, 8 & 16, 2014, totaling $260,554.66, be approved. Carried.

R2014-241 T. Butler, D. Culham: That we appoint Chris Foote to the Nipissing Fire Department. Carried.

R2014-242 T. Piper, L. Smith: That we change Council meeting dates from February 10 & 24, 2015 to February 3 & 17, 2015. Carried.

R2014-243 L. Smith, T. Piper: That we sign a comment letter jointly with the Municipality of Callander, North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit and Discovery Routes Trails Organization, regarding Project No. 60249128 – Highway 654 Rehabilitation – Notification of Study Completion and Submission of Transportation Environmental Study Report (TESR). Carried.

R2014-244 T. Butler, D. Culham: That we pass By-Law No. 2014-55, being a by-law to confirm the proceedings of Council at its meeting held on December 16, 2014. Read the first, second and third time and passed this 16th day of December, 2014. Carried.

R2014-245 L. Smith, T. Piper: That the meeting be adjourned. Time: 8:25 p.m. Next regular meeting January 6, 2015. Carried.
