A regular meeting of the Township of Nipissing Council was held on Tuesday, February 17, 2015.

Present: Mayor Pat Haufe and Councillors Tom Butler, Dougal Culham, Tom Piper and Liz Smith.

Staff and visitors present: Doug Walli, Will Bateman, Dave Yemm, John-Paul Negrinotti, Kris Croskery-Hodgins and Charles Barton.

The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m.

Disclosure of pecuniary interest: Councillor Tom Butler.

R2015-26 D. Culham, T. Butler: That the minutes of the meeting held February 3, 2015 be adopted as published. Carried.

R2015-27 T. Piper, L. Smith: That we adopt the 5 Year Capital Forecast as presented. Carried.

Council reviewed the Preliminary 2015 Budget in detail.

R2015-28 D. Culham, T. Butler: That we authorize the Treasurer-Deputy Clerk to attend the Contract Tendering and Legal Requirements for Municipalities workshop and the AMCTO Zone 7 Spring Workshop. Carried.

R2015-29 L. Smith, T. Piper: That we accept the correspondence as presented. Carried.

Councillor Tom Butler declared pecuniary interest. His spouse is an employee of the Township and is listed in the payroll payable.

R2015-30 T. Piper, L. Smith: That the statement of accounts dated: February 12 and 17, 2015, totaling $48,908.90, be approved. Carried.

Mayor Pat Haufe declared a conflict interest and left the Council room prior to discussion of a donation request from the Gurd and Area Historical Corporation. Mayor Haufe’s wife is a member of the board of management for the Commanda Heritage Centre.

R2015-31 T. Butler, D. Culham: That we donate $2,000.00 to the Gurd and Area Historical Corporation to assist with the operation of the Commanda Heritage Centre. Carried.

Mayor Haufe returned to the Council room.

R2015-32 D. Culham, T. Butler: That we donate $100 to the 2015 Powassan Maple Syrup Festival. Carried.

R2015-33 L. Smith, T. Piper: That we pass By-Law No. 2015-07, being a by-law to confirm the proceedings of Council at its meeting held on February 17, 2015. Read the first, second and third time and passed this 17th day of February, 2015. Carried.

R2015-34 T. Butler, D. Culham: That the meeting be adjourned. Time: 8:58 p.m. Next regular meeting March 10, 2015. Carried.
