Tuesday, July 11, 2017

A regular meeting of the Township of Nipissing Council was held on Tuesday, July 11, 2017.

Present: Mayor Tom Piper, Councillors Linda Andersen, Tom Butler, Tom Marchant and Liz Smith.

Staff and visitors present: Todd Daley, Will Bateman, Dave Yemm, John-Paul Negrinotti, Kris Croskery-Hodgins and Charles Barton.

The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m.

R2017-128 L. Smith, T. Marchant: That the minutes of the meeting held June 20, 2017 be adopted as published. Carried.

This part of our meeting is declared a public meeting pursuant to the provisions of Section 34 (12) of the Planning Act, R.S.O., 1990, to discuss an application for a change to Zoning By-Law 2012-12 by David Yemm.

R2017-129 L. Andersen, T. Butler: That we pass By-Law Number 2017-26, being a By-law to amend Zoning By-Law 2012-12, as amended.
Read a first, second and third time and passed this 11th day of July, 2017. Carried.

R2017-130 T. Marchant, L. Smith: That we pass By-Law Number 2017-27, being a By-law to authorize an employment agreement for a Municipal Law Enforcement Officer for the Township of Nipissing.
Read a first, second and third time and passed this 11th day of July, 2017. Carried.

R2017-131 T. Butler, L. Andersen: That we support the submission of a grant application to the Enabling Accessibility Fund – Community Accessibility Stream for the replacement of the main door on the Township of Nipissing Community Centre and the floor covering on the rear stairs leading to the Fitness Centre. Carried.

An updated 2017 Budget report was presented to Council.

R2017-133 L. Andersen, T. Butler: That the statement of accounts dated: June 29 and 30; July 3 and 11, 2017; totaling $333,073.88, be approved. Carried.

R2017-134 T. Marchant, L. Smith: That we pass By-Law Number 2017-28, being a By-law to appoint a Municipal Law Enforcement Officer.
Read a first, second and third time and passed this 11th day of July, 2017. Carried.

R2017-135 T. Butler, L. Andersen: That we pass By-Law No. 2017-29, being a by-law to confirm the proceedings of Council at its meeting held on July 11, 2017. Read the first, second and third time and passed this 11th day of July, 2017. Carried.

R2017-136 L. Smith, T. Marchant: That the meeting be adjourned. Time: 8:14 p.m. Next regular meeting August 8, 2017. Carried.
